Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using the PrivateProof website, app, beta program, or related services, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the applicable service.

What PrivateProof does

PrivateProof is a documentation and organization tool designed to help renters create records of rental-property condition, repairs, communications, and related information. Features may differ between the website, beta version, and public release.

Not legal advice

PrivateProof does not provide legal advice, legal representation, housing advice, or guaranteed results. A proof record may help you organize information, but it does not guarantee that a landlord, court, agency, insurer, or other person will accept it or reach a particular outcome. Consult a qualified professional for advice about your specific situation.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you record, for keeping backup copies of important records, and for deciding when and with whom to share them. You should follow applicable laws, leases, privacy rules, and recording-consent requirements.

Private-first app design

The app is designed without user accounts and without requiring your proof records to be uploaded to a PrivateProof server. You remain responsible for your device, passcodes, backups, exports, iCloud settings, and any third-party service you choose to use.

Website submissions

Names, email addresses, feedback, and beta applications submitted through the website are governed by the Privacy Policy. You agree to provide accurate information and not to submit unlawful, abusive, threatening, malicious, or intentionally misleading content.

Feedback license

When you submit an idea, suggestion, report, or other feedback, you give PrivateProof permission to use, evaluate, reproduce, modify, and incorporate that feedback to operate and improve PrivateProof. This does not give PrivateProof ownership of your personal proof records.

Acceptable use

You may not use PrivateProof to violate the law, infringe another person's rights, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, abuse forms or email systems, or misrepresent PrivateProof's features or relationship with you.

Beta program

Beta software is provided for testing and evaluation. It may contain errors, change without notice, or become unavailable. Beta participation is also subject to the Beta Tester Disclaimer.

Availability and changes

PrivateProof may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website, app, beta program, or related services. We may update these terms as the product develops. The latest version will be posted on this page with its updated date.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PrivateProof is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or guaranteed legal or financial results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PrivateProof will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
